FULLY QUALIFIED CABINET MAKER
David Hanckel Cabinets (DHC) is a family owned and operated business, managed by David, his wife Jan and their two sons, Scott and Brendon. Established in 1984 and based in Albury NSW, DHC has a great team of 22+ staff, some of whom have been with the Company for most of their working lives. We service the local area and other major centres around NSW, Vic and ACT, and undertake both residential and commercial fit outs.
DHC are seeking to employ a highly skilled and motivated Tradesman, to join this exceptional team, with a view to sharing leadership roles, and helping to develop and grow the team in accordance with the current increasing workload, through demonstrated highly developed skills and effective mentorship.
You would be someone that fits our Level 7 Tradesman description, as a minimum.
A Level Seven Cabinet Maker is an Employee who holds a relevant Trade Certificate, or who has been granted Trade Recognition, or who holds a Certificate III under the Furnishing Industry Training Package and is required to exercise the skill and knowledge of that qualification. Responsibilities of this level include:
- working from complex instruction;
- supervising the work of others, and also works under broad principles and limited supervision;
- performing non-trade tasks related to their work;
- inspecting products and / or materials for conformity with established operational standards;
- undertaking quality control and work organisation and implements improvements and preventative action to improve product quality;
- leading group decision making processes and understands the need for and processes of consultation;
- carrying out risk assessments, rectifies identified hazards, applies occupational health and safety and environmental policies, and ensures safe working practices are followed;
- providing technical/production training;
- determining the need for equipment to be repaired or maintained. Can organise resources necessary to effect maintenance and repair;
- installing ceiling and wall panels;
- detailed laminating, i.e. curved and angles;
- accurately follow complex instructions from Supervisor;
- performing other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications:
Relevant Trade Certificate
Current White Card
Current Manual Drivers License
Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills
Desirable Qualifications:
Fork Lift License
MR Truck License
Asbestos Awareness Certificate
Current Working with Children Check
Current Police Check
Experience with fabrication of Corian Tops, i.e. gluing, edges, sanding, trimming is highly desirable

DRAFTSPERSON / CABINET VISION SOFTWARE

DHC are seeking to employ a Draftsperson, specialising in Cabinet Vision Software, preferably with a Trade background in Cabinet Making, to join this exceptional team. Responsibilities would include but not limited to:
- Producing computerised concept and construction drawings,
- Compiling materials lists for individual projects,
- Researching availability and arranging quotations for specified materials and cabinet hardware,
- Contributing to design process and troubleshooting,
- Consultation with factory staff during manufacture processes,
- Other related tasks where necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability and experience using Cabinet Vision Software
Relevant Trade Certificate
Current White Card
Current Manual Driver’s License
Well developed numeracy, literacy and computer skills
Desirable Qualifications:
Fork Lift License
Experience with Commercial Projects is highly desirable
